Two, three, four, five or six days: what each really holds
Updated 27 October 2026
How many days for a private boat trip in Komodo: 4, 5 or 6? On Elbark Cruises, 4 days cost IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429), 5 days IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) and 6 days IDR 230,000,000 (≈ USD 14,110), each for up to ten guests. Routes beyond 3 days are samples.
What two and three days contain
Two days and one night hold the three most photographed stops: Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Padar on day 1, Pink Beach and Komodo Island on day 2. It is a sample route, and it is the shortest charter we price.
Three days and two nights are the standard route. On day 1 the standard route visits Sebayur or Siaba, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Padar, and on day 2 Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Pengah and Kalong. Day 3 brings Kelor and Manjarite, then the boat ties up again between 11:00 and 12:00.
That is ten stops in three days, and the first two days are full. A fit party enjoys it. A party with grandparents or children reaches day 3 worn out. What three days would cut is time, more than places.

Pickup at 08:30 on day 1 is the one fixed hour of an open trip; a private charter's pickup time is set with your date. Every other time on this page is a planning guide, and the captain sets the stop order on the day.
Hours the fourth day gives back
Four days add Rinca and Manjarite as a third day, and a last morning at Kelor. The sample route keeps days 1 and 2 as they run on the standard route, but the third morning no longer starts with a packing bag. This is the first length that gives a day off the clock.
The extra night gives back hours rather than stops. Padar can be climbed when the heat has eased, and Komodo Island can be walked without a glance at the time. The beach dinner setup is free from three nights, so four days include it.
Four days suit a party that has a week of leave minus travel, a family with younger children, and anyone who wants to try a long charter before committing to five.

What the fifth and sixth days add
Five days spread the loop. Day 1 is Sebayur or Siaba, Taka Makassar and Manta Point, and day 2 is Padar and Pink Beach. Day 3 is Komodo Island, Pengah and Kalong, day 4 is Rinca and Manjarite, and day 5 is Kelor. Nothing in the loop asks for more than three stops in a day.
Six days split the first day in two. Sebayur or Siaba becomes a light first day, with Taka Makassar and Manta Point sharing the second. The rest of the loop is as in the five-day sample, and the sixth day is a gentler start.
Both are sample routes. Weather and tide decide each stop; the captain agrees the final order with you, and the written plan from us comes before any payment.

Reading the ladder by age and energy
Toddlers, children, teenagers and grandparents all fit on a long charter, but they fit differently. Under-threes travel free; from 3 onward the full fare is charged. Children who love water thrive on four or five days. A child under six who gets bored of boats is happier with four.
Teenagers enjoy five and six days, with the paddleboard, the canoe and the late mornings. Grandparents need cabins on the upper deck and the choice to skip the Padar climb. The 25 to 45 minute climb follows a loose, steep path, and nobody has to do it.
Energy matters more than age. A party that likes to be busy wants the shorter plans. A party that reads, naps and swims twice wants the longer ones. The sundeck, the lounge and a cabin of your own do the rest.
Rates for one more night
Each added night changes the bill by a fixed step. Three days cost IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) for up to ten guests. Four days cost IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429), five days IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) and six days IDR 230,000,000 (≈ USD 14,110). The 2-day plan costs IDR 120,000,000 (≈ USD 7,362).
Per day, per head, the long plans are cheaper. Fourteen guests pay IDR 11,290,000 (≈ USD 693) each for three days and IDR 13,710,000 (≈ USD 841) each for four. Five days cost IDR 16,000,000 (≈ USD 982) each, and six cost IDR 18,140,000 (≈ USD 1,113). The boat is the same; only the days that divide the bill change.
Each guest above ten adds a step of IDR 5,500,000 (≈ USD 337) on four days, IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) on five and IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) on six. Park tickets are separate.

A line of advice for each sort of party
A couple or two friends do better on the shared 3-day trip, in a cabin of their own.
A family of four to eight can take four days and let the children set the pace.
Three generations of 12 to 18 should take five days, with the oldest in the upper-deck cabins.
Friends who want a real break take six days.
A company team that needs to stop checking messages takes five.
A private party can start on any day the boat is free, set with your date, so the week follows the calendar of whoever has the least leave.
FAQ
Is three days enough for Komodo?
Three days cover the standard route, ten stops in all, and the first two days are full. It is enough to see the main places, and not enough to stop. Four days put back Rinca and the slack around each stop.
Is five days too long with children?
Not for children who like water. Each day has a long afternoon on board, and the boat has a paddleboard, a canoe and snorkelling gear. A child under six who gets bored of boats is happier with four days. Tell us the ages and we plan around them.
Does a longer charter cost more per day?
No, less. Eighteen guests pay IDR 15,440,000 (≈ USD 947) each for six days and IDR 9,780,000 (≈ USD 600) each for three, so each of the six days costs less than each of the three. The total is higher, because there are more days on the same boat.
Can we start on any weekday?
Yes, on a private charter, on any day the boat is free, with the start set with your date. The shared 3-day trip is different: it leaves on Fridays and some Mondays only, and a cabin is booked by the date on the calendar.
How many days do I need in Komodo Island?
Komodo Island itself is a morning's ranger-led walk. The days around it set the pace. Three days see the main stops, four to six days give each its own morning or afternoon. A party of 14 or more knows by day 3 which length it wanted.
