What a private phinisi really costs, from the whole boat down to the head
Updated 27 October 2026
How much does a private phinisi charter cost in Komodo in 2027? On Elbark Cruises, 3 days cost IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) and 5 days IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) for up to ten guests, then IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) per guest on five days, up to 18. 2027 fares follow the current list.
The ladder, from 2 days to 6
Elbark is priced as one boat. The ladder runs from IDR 120,000,000 (≈ USD 7,362) for 2 days to IDR 230,000,000 (≈ USD 14,110) for 6, each figure covering up to ten guests. In between sit IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) for 3 days, IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429) for 4 and IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) for 5.
A party of ten pays the figure on the line and no more. Four guests pay the same whole-boat figure, which is why small parties do better on the shared trip, where each cabin carries a per-person price. Large parties belong here.
The figure is for the boat, its nine cabins, meals, snorkelling gear, the paddleboard and the canoe, local Wi-Fi and pickup in the city area. Park tickets, a guide and documentation are outside it.

Above 10 guests: the sums, line by line
Guest eleven starts to add. Each guest from the eleventh to the eighteenth pays a fixed step, IDR 4,500,000 (≈ USD 276) on 3 days, IDR 5,500,000 (≈ USD 337) on 4, IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) on 5 and IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) on 6.
The sums, line by line. Twelve guests on 5 days: IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) plus two steps makes IDR 212,000,000 (≈ USD 13,006), or IDR 17,670,000 (≈ USD 1,084) each. Fourteen guests: IDR 224,000,000 (≈ USD 13,742), or IDR 16,000,000 (≈ USD 982) each. Sixteen guests: IDR 236,000,000 (≈ USD 14,479), or IDR 14,750,000 (≈ USD 905) each. Eighteen guests: IDR 248,000,000 (≈ USD 15,215), or IDR 13,780,000 (≈ USD 845) each.
Per day, per head, the share keeps falling as the party grows, because the boat stays the same size. Eighteen guests pay IDR 13,780,000 (≈ USD 845) each for five days, against IDR 20,000,000 (≈ USD 1,227) for ten.

Charges kept outside the charter rate
Some costs are never in the boat price. Flights, travel insurance and personal expenses are for you, and alcohol is not included. Park tickets are separate, and the drone ticket is not part of a boat price either.
Neither a guide nor documentation sits inside a private-charter price. Each is quoted separately on request, and you see the figure before you agree. The shared trip is different, since its cabin fare includes a cruise director guide and a photographer.
Pickup and drop-off in the city area, snorkelling gear, meals, coffee, tea and water are included. A beach dinner setup is free on a charter of three nights or more.

Komodo National Park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest; 4D3N: IDR 750,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. It includes the government entrance ticket, the ranger fee and local levies.
Three extras priced apart: park entry, guiding, photography
National regulation PP 36/2024 sets park entry per person: IDR 250,000 for an international guest, and for an Indonesian guest IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends. Ranger fees and other levies are charged on top and can be revised.
Guiding is the second extra. A cruise director guide is not in a private-charter price, and a quote on request names the figure and the days. The third is photography. Photo and video documentation is quoted the same way, apart from the boat.
The park-fees page works out a full party over several days. Budget for all three before you compare this boat with another.

2027: the list that applies until a new one is issued
The rate card is dated 2026 and valid to the end of 2026. No separate 2027 card exists yet. Fares for 2027 stay on the current list until a new one appears, and the price reaches you in writing ahead of payment.
That is not a promise that prices stay. The rate applies to the year it was issued, and prices can change with fuel costs, additional routes or activities and government regulation. If a new list raises the fare, the written confirmation shows the figure you will pay, and you decide.
Booking early does not change the arithmetic, but it secures the dates. A 2027 sailing confirmed in writing carries the price in that confirmation.
Reading any phinisi quotation the same careful way
Whatever the boat, ask the same questions. How many guests does the price cover, and what does each extra guest cost? Is the park ticket in it? Is a guide in it? Is documentation in it? Is the route fixed, or a sample? What happens if the boat cannot sail?
A fair quotation answers each in writing, and it shows the total for your head count, not a starting price. Compare the total for your head count and the number of days, not the line on the front page.
We answer the same questions for Elbark in one message: the total, the cabin plan, the inclusions, the exclusions and the replacement-boat terms. If another quotation is lower, check what is missing from it before you decide.
