Five days: the loop at the speed of the third morning
Updated 27 October 2026
Komodo 5 day boat trip on a private phinisi: the whole of Elbark Cruises, nine cabins and room for 18. It costs IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) with up to 10 guests and IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) for each guest after that. The days below are a sample route; the final order is fixed with the captain.
Five sample days laid out as a captain would propose them
Five days is a sample route here. Five days and four nights come with a price but no stop list, so each day below takes its stops from the standard 3-day route, with Rinca added. You agree the final order with the captain, and it reaches you in writing before payment.
- Day 1: Sebayur or Siaba, Taka Makassar and Manta Point.
- Day 2: Padar and Pink Beach.
- Day 3: Komodo Island, Pengah and Kalong.
- Day 4: Rinca and Manjarite.
- Day 5: Kelor, then the harbour at Labuan Bajo.
Count the stops. No day carries more than three, and the last carries one. The standard 3-day route crams four into its first day alone. Over five days nothing is squeezed, and that is exactly what the extra money pays for.
All four nights are aboard. Each evening the captain picks the bay, with the weather in mind.

Stops that can swap places on the day: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.
Pickup at 08:30 on day 1 is the one fixed hour of an open trip; a private charter's pickup time is set with your date. Every other time on this page is a planning guide, and the captain sets the stop order on the day.
The third day, with no fixed hour
By the third morning nobody asks the time any more. Breakfast drifts late because there is no reason to hurry it. A grandmother is still in the shade of the sundeck over a second coffee, and the teenagers have already been in and out of the sea off the stern.
Day 3 of the sample is Komodo Island, Pengah and Kalong. On the standard 3-day route these share a crowded second day with Pink Beach; here they have the day to themselves. A park ranger leads the Komodo walk and sets both trail and pace. Pengah is a swim, then a rest.
Someone suggests leaving for Kalong at four, and no one objects. A July sunset there falls at 17:57, and the flying foxes stream out of the mangroves at dusk, so the boat is in place early and the party watches from the deck. Sky and bats keep their own counsel; the captain reads the light and calls it.
This is the day off the clock. A 3-day trip cannot afford one, because its third day ends at the quay before lunch.
Rinca, Manjarite and the final morning at Kelor
Rinca has day 4. It is a second walk with a ranger, over dry ground, and the dragons are wild: you see what the ranger finds that morning. After lunch comes Manjarite. In between, the boat is simply somewhere to sit, swim and sleep.
Kelor ends the trip. It is small and hilly, and a short, steep path of 15 to 30 minutes brings you to the viewpoint over the bay; sturdy shoes pay off. One last swim, one last lunch, and the boat turns for Labuan Bajo.
From the harbour the drop-off reaches your hotel, the airport or anywhere in the city area. Hold day 5 flights until 14:00 or later; eighteen people with bags do not come ashore quickly, and the spare hours keep everyone's connection safe.
What five days cost: the boat, then each guest
With up to 10 guests the boat is IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270). From the eleventh guest to the 18th, add IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) a head. So fourteen guests pay IDR 224,000,000 (≈ USD 13,742), or IDR 16,000,000 (≈ USD 982) each. A full boat of eighteen pays IDR 248,000,000 (≈ USD 15,215), which is IDR 13,780,000 (≈ USD 845) each.
Per day, per head, five days win. For the same fourteen guests, three days come to IDR 11,290,000 (≈ USD 693) each and five to IDR 16,000,000 (≈ USD 982). The larger bill buys two more days aboard, and per day the five-day share is the lower of the two.
Park tickets stay outside the price. Guiding and photo or video documentation are priced on request, apart from the boat. With four nights aboard, the free beach dinner setup is yours. For a 2027 sailing the present list holds until a new one appears, and your figure is confirmed in writing first.

Stops a four-day plan drops, and the room a sixth day gives
On four days the sample has to carry four stops on each of its first two days. Five days take Padar and Pink Beach out of that crush and give them a day together. The climb can wait for a cooler hour, and the beach gets a long morning. That is what a four-day plan drops: the room around each stop.
A sixth day, set out on the 6-day page, splits day 1 in two. Sebayur or Siaba becomes a light first day on its own, and Taka Makassar and Manta Point share the next. No stop is added; the week just slows again.
If you are torn between five and six, think about how your party spends a slow afternoon. One that reads, swims twice and plays cards will want the sixth day. One that is checking watches by day 5 already has enough.
Reading five days against the ages in your party
Five days suit teenagers, working-age adults and grandparents who are happy to sit. The days are long without being full, and every cabin is a quiet place to withdraw to. Cabins differ in size, so give the larger ones to the oldest guests first.
Under-threes sail free. A child of 3 or older is charged as an adult. Padar and Rinca mean real steps and dirt paths, so small children and grandparents choose on the morning whether to go up, and nobody is held back if they stay.
Several children under six point to four days instead. So does a party that has never slept on a boat: try four first, and come back for five.
Who Elbark Cruises suits
- Groups of up to 18 who want four to six days on one boat, with nobody split across two vessels.
- Three generations of a family who need nine cabins of different sizes, from the Misool master to a lower-deck pair.
- A company team or circle of friends who would rather spend a long week at sea than a long weekend.
- Guests who want the Misool master cabin, with its private balcony, sofa and jacuzzi.
- Open-trip guests who want an ensuite, air-conditioned cabin of their own on a Friday or Monday sailing.
Who should look at another boat
- Parties above 18: that is the published maximum and the boat sails with no more.
- Guests who need dependable internet all day: the Wi-Fi on board is local only.
- Divers: diving is not part of the trip, and the water kit we list is for snorkelling.
- Anyone who wants a one-day trip: the shortest charter is 2 days and 1 night.
Check before you book
- You want a balcony or a bathtub in every cabin: only Misool has the balcony and jacuzzi, and only Misool, Weh and Mentawai have a bathtub.
- You expect daylight windows in the four lower-deck cabins: they have a small round marine window.
- You want an open trip longer than 3 days: the shared trip is 3D2N only, and longer plans are private charters.
Securing five days on the calendar
No shared trip runs five days. Open trips are 3 days, on Fridays and some Mondays, by the cabin. A charter begins whenever the boat is free, which lets a school holiday or a company calendar choose the week.
Message us on WhatsApp with numbers, dates and the children's ages, and a written cabin plan comes back. A 50% deposit reserves the boat; the remainder is due 30 days ahead.
If Elbark cannot sail your dates, another phinisi, at least her equal in class, takes them over at no extra cost, or the full payment is returned within 14 days. Tell the family early. That promise is what lets a family book a year ahead without worrying.

FAQ
How many days should I spend on Komodo Island?
For a large party, five days give every stop on the standard route its own morning or afternoon. Three days get round the stops at speed; four and five spread them out. The Komodo walk itself fills a morning with a ranger, so it is the days around it that set the pace.
Is Komodo Island closed in 2026?
The park authority decides access, not the boat and not us. Every date and price on this site assumes the park is open to charters. We check the park's position before confirming your dates, and if anything changes we write to you straight away.
How much is the Komodo entrance fee?
Park tickets are paid separately and are never in a boat price. The park ticket costs an international guest IDR 250,000, and an Indonesian guest IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends. The drone ticket is not part of any boat price. The park-fees page works out a full party.
What is the best month to visit Komodo Island?
The dry season runs April to October, with firm ground for walking. The calm, clear spells are April to June and September to November; July and August bring more wind and more boats. In any month, five days leave room to wait for a better morning, and the captain decides on the day.
What does the 5D4N price include?
The whole boat with nine air-conditioned cabins, meals, snacks, coffee, tea and water, snorkelling gear, a paddleboard and a canoe, local Wi-Fi, activities on the itinerary and pickup in the city area. Park tickets, flights, insurance, a guide and documentation are not included.
Can the sequence of stops change?
Yes. The five days shown are a sample route. You settle the order with the captain, and the sea and tide can still move it on the day; Taka Makassar and Manta Point, for instance, swap easily. The agreed plan is sent in writing before you pay.
