Long-voyage notes

Updated 27 October 2026

Long-voyage notes are short, checked pieces for people planning four, five or six days on Elbark Cruises: how the days run, how the cabins are shared out, what the park charges and what the sea decides. A note appears here only when we have something exact to say.

Newest long-voyage notes

The newest notes sit below, with the latest first. Each one answers a question that a party of ten to eighteen asks before it books, and each keeps to the boat's own details, the park rules and our price list.

We publish a note when we have checked its facts, and not to keep a calendar full. A note that turns out to be wrong is corrected in place, with the date of the correction, and not quietly deleted.

Why this column exists

A long charter is a bigger decision than a day trip. It involves nine cabins, a group chat of fifteen people and a sum that somebody has to explain to a family. The pages of this site give the facts. The notes give the reasoning that sits around them.

They are written by the booking team at PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, who answer the messages. Where a note touches the sea or the park, it says who decides: the captain, the ranger or the harbour authority. Where a note touches money, it uses the figures from the price list and nothing else.

If a question has come up in your own planning and no page answers it, message us. A question that three parties ask becomes a note, and a question that only you ask gets a written answer in the chat.
